Finished!
Conversations with Rowdy
Tizz: I finished all 100 days, you know.
Rowdy: I know.
Tizz: I posted some on Substack. Most, though, probably 70 or more, I did every morning on paper. This place *taps computer* is too distracting. I’m trying a more analog life, for at least part of the day.
Rowdy: Well done.
Tizz: Thank you! I’ve managed to stay off the computer for an hour a day so far.
Rowdy: Only an hour?
Tizz: Sometimes two. Weekends, even more.
Rowdy: Why more on weekends?
Tizz: Company for the journey. I’m still a bit wobbly going out. Not as much, since we started walking at dawn again. My photos are telling that tale a bit, but I’m only allowed to upload a limited number each week.
Rowdy: Dawn is beautiful.
Tizz: She is.
Rowdy: *looks confused* The dawn is female?
Tizz: My cousin, Dawn, is female. Sunrise can be whatever they want to be.
Rowdy: Ah. *chuffs* I want to meet Dawn.
Tizz: I will tell her about you. We spent a lot of time together as children. Our mothers are twins. Lately, we’ve been reconnecting by text. I’m so grateful for this miraculous phone! *shows Rowdy her cell phone* It holds so much of the world’s knowledge and connects us to the people we love. Plus, it has books, music, and a compass!
Rowdy: And me?
Tizz: Yes, and you! There are many photos of you, and notes to you, and links to your home on MissionWolf when you were in your wolf body.
Rowdy: I am still in my wolf body.
Tizz: Your *Earthly* wolf body.
Rowdy: Ah.
Tizz: I’m listening to Kimerer LaMathoe (she wrote, Why We Dance) right now. My pen name, Niki Flow, was a promise to myself that I have not quite managed to keep.
Rowdy: Yet.
Tizz: Yet!
Rowdy: How have you been trying to flow recently?
Tizz: Daily stretches. Walking. My friend J suggested bodywork (like massage, acupuncture). I found a place near me that’s reasonable for a half-hour session. Morning meditations outside. Singing. And soon dancing - small steps only until I’m stronger. Kimerer is very inspiring. “Dance isn’t about fitting your body into certain kinds of movements,” she says. “It really is about working with your own potential to move.”
Rowdy: That sounds like good advice.
Tizz: ‘Tis. Oh, and I’m trying to make friends with a beautiful black cat who has been visiting my yard for several days. He (or she) is very shy. I think I’ve made a friend of the squirrel living in the tree behind my bench. I’ve yet to see my bird friend, though. I miss her (or him).
Rowdy: I will visit your yard soon and introduce myself.
Tizz: Hmm.
Rowdy: What?
Tizz: Well, a wolf is a bit -- intimidating. A spirit wolf...
Rowdy: I am friendly, and they will read my energy and know I can be trusted.
Tizz: What a wonderful ability.
Rowdy: You have it too. *bumps against Tizz and sits down next to her*
Tizz: *begins scratching Rowdy’s ears* Somewhere, dormant, in my cells, I remember these wild skills.
Rowdy: Yes. Listen to those.

I love that it's done AND your conversations with Rowdy.
